CONCEPT:
EF Explore America markets toward middle school teachers to take their students to explore the United States. This specific mailing is targeting middle school social studies teaches. In the United States one of the main areas of study during middle school is the Civil War.
I was an integral part to creating this email of a series, not only the physical output, but in the ideation. This had quite a sense of humor and light heartedness in the language that is even more so reflected in the cooking demo of how to cook food soldiers ate during the era.
CONTENT:
This campaign features an HTML5 video to drive engagement. Since not all email clients support the video experience an image fallback is in place with a play button directed to landing page with hosted video for those where it is not supported to ensure a seamless degradation experience.
The primary module is a background image with live text. The headline font is coded as web-hosted font with web-safe fallback. Body and button copy are web-safe fonts. Chalkboard banner and sub-headline fonts are transparent pngs. The chalkboard is a background image.
Bulletproof buttons used to ensure all call to actions are clickable when images aren’t enable or there is poor internet connection.
DARK MODE CONSIDERATIONS:
High contrast colors are used in the main content that will allow for optimal dark mode rendering experience. Logo is s transparent png with a white outline to ensure visibility on darker backgrounds in dark mode.
